CONNECT READING

Each Connect reading event features at least one adult who is deaf and/or hard of hearing who reads a story in the communication mode of his or her choice (sign, voice or a combination) to children at a local library.  Children who are deaf or hard of hearing and children who are hearing are all welcome.  A voice and/or sign interpreter will also be present. This is a wonderful way to enjoy our public libraries and to see and hear a story told by an adult from our deaf community.   For additional information, please contact questions@handsandvoicesne.org.

Connect is a collaborative mentoring project started by the Nebraska Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, the Nebraska School for the Deaf Alumni Association, the Nebraska Association of the Deaf,  and Nebraska Hands & Voices to bring the deaf and hard of hearing community together with children who are deaf and/or hard of hearing and their families.
