Congratulations to Drew Fundus, our July 2026 Rising Star!

Drew was nominated by Carre Klein:

"Drew has been fun to get to know this year, consistently demonstrating a positive attitude that is appreciated by both peers and staff. He is well-liked, friendly, and actively participates in NRP Deaf Education activities, showing enthusiasm and pride in being part of the deaf/hard of hearing community. He will be attending Washington, D.C. in March, where he will represent Nebraska well as a positive role model for students with hearing differences. At school, he is a member of the Unified Bowling Team, and choir. Drew demonstrates teamwork, inclusion, and leadership. He consistently is responsible by responding to emails, attending appointments, and putting in the effort required to succeed. Drew wears his hearing aid daily and advocates for himself in the classroom- by asking for help or clarification when needed. He is thoughtful and supportive of all students and has expressed an interest in pursuing a future in education. Drew’s kindness, engagement, and leadership make him an excellent candidate for the Rising Star Award."
