"I would like to nominate McKenna Sullivan for the Nebraska Hands & Voices Rising Star Award in recognition of her exceptional dedication, perseverance, and leadership as a senior in high school with a hearing difference. She ranks in the top 10 of a graduating class of more than 300 students while successfully balancing rigorous honors coursework and two part-time jobs, demonstrating remarkable responsibility and time-management skills. She is highly involved in her school and community, earning a lead role in the ballet production of The Nutcracker, participating on the school dance team, and engaging in numerous activities including Circle of Friends, honors classes, and consistent placement on the honor roll. She has been accepted to Grand Canyon University for the fall and has clear goals for her future. Her accomplishments reflect resilience, confidence, and a strong work ethic, making her a positive role model and a true Rising Star."
