Congratulations to Riley Clausen, our June 2026 Rising Star!

Riley was nominated by Carre Klein:

"I would like to nominate Riley for the Nebraska Hands & Voices Rising Star Award. Riley has taken an intentional look at his future and is developing a clear path to gain the skills needed to live independently,  working on securing employment and how to maintain an apartment. As a senior, he consistently demonstrates responsibility by responding to emails, attending meetings, and arriving prepared and ready to do the work. Despite his hearing difference, Riley does not allow it to limit his goals or motivation; instead, he approaches challenges with determination and confidence. He has been especially involved in school theater behind the scenes, contributing to props and set construction, which directly supports his interest in pursuing a hands-on career such as construction or carpentry. He has also been active in NRP Deaf Education activities and has truly enjoyed participating in them. He is a friendly, motivated student whose growth and perseverance make him a true Rising Star."
