Riley Isaacson

Congratulations to Riley Isaacson, our June 2023 Rising Star!

Riley was nominated by Sara Peterson and Nikki Garey, who had the following to say:

"Riley is a senior at Kearney High School.  He has attended Kearney Public Schools since he was in 2nd grade.  Over the many years that I have worked with him, I have been able to observe so much growth, not only in his academic skills but also in his interpersonal skills.  He is always polite and kind and goes out of his way to help others.  Recently, on a activity with the Nebraska Regional Programs, Co-director Sara Peterson shared the following with KPS administration:  

"I wanted to take a minute to give a shout out about Riley Isaacson.  Riley has been active in the Central Western Nebraska Partnership since he was very young. He is such an amazing role model for our younger students and such a positive impact on his peers at our events.  He is so compassionate and inclusive of all.  He is definitely a leader from the moment he gets on my bus until he arrives home.  He will be greatly missed as he graduates, and we will count down the days until he can come back as a staff member."

Riley has faced adversity throughout his years of education, but he has still chosen to stay involved with both hearing and Deaf/Hard of Hearing peers.  Most importantly, he so often chooses to treat others with kindness even when they have not been not kind to him.  School administration agrees that Riley is a positive light to those around him.  He is kind and respectful.  He works hard.  We will certainly miss him at school, but we look forward to seeing what the future brings.  Whatever it is, we anticipate that Riley will do well!"
