Congratulations to Tyler Naylor, the September 2022 Rising Star!

Tyler was nominated by Gennevieve Weiss:

"Tyler Naylor is an eighth grader at Aurora Middle School. Tyler earns high grades and likes to read, game, and hang out with friends. He fills his free time with creative hobbies like writing stories, making comic books, and working on his own YouTube channel. Tyler is curious, energetic, and cheerful. His teachers can tell how much he loves learning in class, he's welcoming to other students, and he is always eager to make new friends.

Tyler uses two hearing aids and knows some sign language, which he uses with friends from around the state. Tyler and his family have been attending Regional Program events for students who are deaf and hard of hearing, where they are getting to know families from all across Nebraska. This spring Tyler decided to participate in the Rochester Institute of Technology/National Technical Institute for the Deaf math competition for middle school students. He is the first student from our school to ever sign up for this event. Tyler made it to the quarter final round and was glad he gave it a try! We are proud of him for being willing to take a risk and try something new!
